#UNGA79 🇷🇺🇺🇳 On September 26, Russia's Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Secretary-General of the United Nations Antonio Guterres had a meeting on the sidelines of the 79th Session of the UN General Assembly in New York. During the conversation, they discussed the current geopolitical environment and emerging trends, as well as reviewed the most urgent matters on the international agenda, including the situation in the Middle East and in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict zone, while paying special attention to Russia-UN cooperation in various aspects. Sergey Lavrov reaffirmed the importance for UN senior executives and all members of the Secretariat to strictly adhere to the principle of impartiality and maintain an equidistant position, including when addressing the crimes perpetrated by the Kiev regime. ❗️ He made an urgent appeal to Antonio Guterres not to allow UN agencies’ representatives to be drawn into would-be peaceful initiatives in the context of the Ukraine crisis. The Foreign Minister went on to draw the Secretary-General’s attention to the continued violations by the United States of the 1947 Agreement between the United Nations and the United States of America regarding the Headquarters of the United Nations. He noted that, faced with this situation, Antonio Guterres must initiate an arbitration procedure regarding the United States without delay, as required by several corresponding UN General Assembly resolutions. 🤝 Both Sides expressed their commitment to further strengthening constructive Russia-UN ties and reaffirmed their mutual support for the UN’s central coordinating role in international affairs, as well as full compliance with the provisions of the UN Charter, considering their interconnected nature.

🇷🇺🇺🇳 Den 26 september hade Rysslands utrikesminister Sergej Lavrov och FN:s generalsekreterare Antonio Guterres ett möte vid sidan av FN:s generalförsamlings 79:e session i New York.
Under samtalet diskuterade man den rådande geopolitiska miljön och framväxande trender, samt granskade de mest brådskande frågorna på den internationella agendan, bland annat situationen i Mellanöstern och i den israelisk-palestinska konfliktzonen, samtidigt som man särskilt uppmärksammade Ryssland-FN-samarbetet i olika aspekter.
Sergej Lavrov bekräftade på nytt vikten av att FN:s höga chefer och alla medlemmar av sekretariatet strikt följer principen om opartiskhet och håller en jämlik ställning, även när de tar itu med de brott som begåtts av Kievregimen.
❗️ Han riktade en brådskande vädjan till Antonio Guterres att inte låta FN-organens företrädare dras in i fredliga initiativ i samband med Ukraina-krisen.
Utrikesministern fortsatte med att uppmärksamma generalsekreteraren på de fortsatta brotten från USA av 1947 års avtal mellan FN och Amerikas förenta stater om FN:s högkvarter. Han noterade att Antonio Guterres, inför denna situation, måste inleda ett skiljedomsförfarande mot USA utan dröjsmål, vilket krävs i flera motsvarande resolutioner från FN:s generalförsamling.
🤝 Båda sidorna uttryckte sitt engagemang för att ytterligare stärka konstruktiva band mellan Ryssland och FN och bekräftade sitt ömsesidigt stöd för FN:s centrala samordningsroll i internationella frågor, samt full efterlevnad av bestämmelserna i FN-stadgan, med tanke på deras sammanlänkade natur.
